March 8 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

How did the Battle of Pell’s Point impact the local community? How did Colonel John Glover and the 14th Continental Regiment, the Massachusetts Marbleheads, contribute to the Patriots’ cause? Bartow-Pell Museum Educator Lycia Kougemitros will discuss the causes and consequences of the American Revolution on the shores of Pelham Bay Park and the surrounding area and its inhabitants during this lecture presentation.

The mural depicting the Battle of Pell’s Point is located in the Bronx County Courthouse at 851 Grand Concourse. The mural, painted by James Monroe Hewlett in the 1930s, is on display in the building’s Veterans Memorial Hall.
This event is free and open to the public.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
