June 17 - June 25 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Directed by Amy Frey

In Shakespeare’s classic play, a ruthlessly ambitious man embarks on a merciless campaign of conquest, disinformation, assassination, seduction, and domination fueled by fantasies of absolute power. Join us for an immersive experience throughout the beautiful rooms and grounds of Bartow-Pell Mansion-Museum as a villain carves a bloody path to power – and his subjects slowly awaken to the threat he represents.

Most performances of Richard III will bring the audience throughout the mansion, including up to the second floor. However, our 2pm matinee performances on June 18 and 25 will utilize only the large parlor on the ground floor, and will not involve audience movement. Guests who prefer not to climb stairs or move about the house during performances may prefer to attend one of these special one-room matinees.
